We recently launched Galaxy Metal, the new generation of Galaxy's cloud hosting platform. Check your app in the Galaxy dashboard. Apps on Galaxy Metal and Web Apps use the new docs. Apps on Galaxy Legacy use these. We're keeping the legacy docs online and maintained for as long as apps run on Galaxy Legacy, so you can bookmark whichever set of docs applies to you. Note: some apps continue to run on Galaxy Legacy under specific arrangements. If that applies to your app, continue using these docs. Our team has already been in touch with you directly.

Meteor Version Support Status

This document outlines the current support status for different Meteor versions, including both development support from the Meteor core team and hosting support on Galaxy.

Galaxy Hosting Support

Galaxy continues to provide hosting support for all major Meteor versions: ✅ Meteor 1.x – Active hosting support ✅ Meteor 2.x – Active hosting support ✅ Meteor 3.x – Active hosting support

Meteor Core Development Support

The Meteor core team has clarified the current support status of the various Meteor versions and what developers can expect moving forward. This breakdown addresses the support changes following major releases, such as Meteor 3.

🚫 Meteor 1.x – End-of-Life (EOL) Meteor 1.x is no longer supported and is not receiving updates or security patches. The Meteor core team strongly encourages any remaining users to migrate to newer versions.

⚠️ Meteor 2.x – Maintenance Mode starting July 2025 Meteor 2.x will enter Maintenance Mode in July 2025. From that point on, it will only receive critical security updates, and no new features will be added. The version will completely reach End-of-Life in December 2025.

✅ Meteor 3.x – Active Support Meteor 3 is the current officially supported version, with full ongoing development, improvements, and feature additions. This version includes significant architectural enhancements, including support for ESM and SWC. The Meteor core team highly recommends upgrading to Meteor 3 as soon as possible to take

Deploy a new Meteor App

Learn how to deploy on Galaxy by setting up Push to Deploy. The easiest and fastest way of deploying your Meteor app.

Sign up for Meteor Accounts

You need a Meteor account in order to deploy your apps. If you don't have one yet, you can sign up here.

| To deploy, we require a valid credit card for identity verification. Our payment processor places a small temporary hold to validate the card, which is automatically refunded to your account. You will only be charged by Galaxy if you deploy a paid app.

Deploy a new app

Start by going to your Meteor account on Galaxy. Then click on "Create New" > "Deploy App" on the top right corner.

Once there, you'll see this configuration page:

Click on the Git provider where is your project is located and install the our Git Application. We do support GitHub, Bitbucket and GitLab. An authentication popup from your Git provider show up. On this popup, you can choose the individual account or organization that you want to give us access to. You don't need to give access to all your repositories if you don't want to. Later you can go on Git provider and change your permissions to authorize more repositories.

Getting Started with APM

Learn how to start with Monti APM

This guide will help you get started with Monti APM, to better understand how your app behaves and identify areas for improvement.

Installation

Run meteor add montiapm:agent inside your Meteor project.
Once you have deployed your app, enable "Galaxy Professional" from the app settings page.

Migrate from Meteor APM

Your app cannot have both Meteor APM and Monti APM agents enabled at the same time.

This means that you'll need to remove the mdg:meteor-apm-agent package from your app.

Run meteor add montiapm:agent inside your Meteor project to install the Monti APM agent.
Run meteor remove mdg:meteor-apm-agent inside your Meteor project to remove the old Meteor APM agent.

Migrate from existing Monti APM configuration

In order to use our provided Monti APM app, you will need to remove any existing Monti APM configuration from your app.

To ensure that Monti APM will connect with our provided app, you will need to:

Ensure there's no "monti" settings in your Meteor settings file.
Ensuring you don't call Monti.connect() in your code.

Monitoring your app

After connecting your app to Monti APM following the steps above, your app will send information to Monti APM. Visit Galaxy 2 to find links to your Monti APM dashboard.
